Wx8 was first deployed at Thiels Mountains on December 12th 2008.
In November 2013 it was upgraded and in November 2014 moved to Thiels corner.

The system has 2 cameras, a weather sensor, a gps, a satellite modem, solar panels and wind turbines on a 10m tower.
